Do not color on them or do not rip the, etc. The books should be sent back to school in good shape! Thank you your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Comprehension
Be sure to ask your child lots of questions about what they are reading to check for understanding. Things that we discuss in class when we read are:
Who are the characters?
What is the setting of this story (Where is the story taking place at??)
What is the plot? (what is the problem?)
What is the climax? (What happens to change the problem?)
What is the resolution? (How does the problem get fixed?)
How did the story end?
How could the story have ended differently?
Who was the main character?
What was the author's purpose for writing this story?
What kind of genre was this story?
How do you know?
