- As a reminder that November 22, 2013 -NO SCHOOL it is a PD day for teachers
- Literacy Block- during our literacy we practiced our sounds, we mainly focused on "morning message"- students love writing letters to other students, it was students VS teacher - of course the students won
- Math Block - we completed our lesson 5- I read the kids the "Five Little Monkeys jumping on the bed" I had the students read the book with me
- Science - we continued with science today as well- and we are still working on "touch" - soft and hard

CIS FOOD DRIVE!!! Did you know that over 130 Muslim families use the food drive we provide food to? Imagine not having any food and having to compete with other families in need for this necessity. Please help us reach our goal of 2,500 food items. That sounds like a lot of food, but statistics show that this amount will feed the 130 families only for 2-3 days.
Please donate!!! Every little thing counts, JAK!!!
Science: One of sense is touch or feeling- we had an opportunity to work with the touch sense today- students watched a 4 minute video on the different types of senses "Sockhead- The Five Senses with Freddy Shoehorn
-as part of the class we visited our school library and Mrs. Hones (the librarian) read the children a picture book story called "50 below" by Robert Munch. It was a really funny story! The story highlighted adjective (describing words) about "touch", what we feel? Winter would be a prefect example, soft, ice, cold, freezing, watery, etc.
-students enjoyed their time in the library, and had a chance to explore through other literature and picture books afterwards!
Literacy: We learned about "l" today- students had to think of something that starts with "l", example, lizard, London, lemon, lime etc.
Treasure Words: Lick, lemon, melt, bell
Tomorrow is Friday!!! Have a great evening!!
