First of all congratulation to all of the students whom received an award for responsibility!!!! Keep on the good work!
It was a busy and exciting day fro both classes today!
Science:
In science we are learning about the 5 different senses, and I am introducing one sense at a time. So, we have been doing taste - we created apples as a art/craft in today's class, and we had the chance to taste some different fruits, like oranges and bananas - kids had to describe what they taste example yummy, sours, crunchy, juicy (these are called adjectives, words that we use to describe something)- I have uploaded some picture, so check it out!
Literacy Corner:
we have completed book number 2 in Jolly Phonics and have started the review at the back of the book!

-I have also unloaded a list of all the clubs for 'Wonderful Wednesdays" which explains a little bit about the clubs- some of the clubs are for older students, but KG is involved in clubs between KG-Grade 2
Questions regarding "literacy centres"- below is a short explanation of what is literacy centre?
What is a literacy centre? Students in our classrooms vary greatly in their literacy needs and ability levels. As a result, it is necessary to provide multiple opportunities for students to read, write, participate in meaningful experiences, and collaborate with others so that they can develop their ability to read and comprehend text(s). A literacy centre is a physical area (or station) designated for specific learning purposes. It is designed to provide appropriate materials to help students work independently or collaboratively (with partners or in small groups) to meet literacy goals. The integration of literacy centres can support improvement in reading comprehension, language, social, writing development and phonics. Literacy centres facilitate problem-solving because students are able to explore, invent, discover, and create alone or with others at centres.
Why have literacy centres? Effective literacy centres allow for student choice, have explicit and ongoing routines. Literacy centres promote student collaboration, facilitate student motivation, and provide targeted practice for students.
I will post the names of the station soon inshallah!
